Workshop by Alma Vidal
13 – 17 May in Arts Printing House – Vilnius
This workshop was organised by Loreta Vaskova with the financial support of the Lithuanian Cultural Council.
Lorca. Born in the South of Spain. One of the most representative and passionate authors of the Spanish tradition. His play, Blood Wedding, talks about a real incident in the deepest parts of Spain and shows a human perspective that is still relevant nowadays. Full of poetry and very special characters, it will allow us to get inside a world of dark and wild symbols and emotions.
We explore Spanish theatre culture using Lorca’s play Blood Wedding as the main topic, one of the most representative tragedies of the 20th century.
By combining theory and practical methods, we investigate some scenes mixing the classical and contemporary approaches.
It is a five-day workshop focused on the actor’s perspective through Lorca’s characters, training in the Spanish way. An approach to the professional work of a contemporary Spanish company.
